Welcome back Euro Kidos. Hope you had a fun winter break. Today we jumped right back into the grind. Class started with a YouTube video from John Green via Crash Course. I then lectured on the Building of European Supremacy: Society and Politics leading up to World War I. This included population trends and migration, the Second Industrial Revolution, the middle class's trend to ascendancy, a look at-19th-Century urban life and the experience of women in the late-19th-century.

Thursday 1.7.16 

 In today's class we took a reading quiz over chapter 23. We then continued our discussion on the societies and politics of Europe prior to WWI. Today's topics included: How Jews were handled in society, and the rise of labor unions and socialist movements. We then watched a video by Mr. Beats to review the achievements of the 1st Industrial Revolution. We then compared the 1st and 2nd Industrial Revolutions and saw how military weapons changed drastically from the US Civil War (1st IR) to WWI (2nd IR).

Wednesday 1.13.16 

 Today sterted with the reading quiz on Chapter 24. Students then continued working on their Venn diagram comparing and contrasting the documents from last class. After discussing the Venn diagram as a class we took notes on the rise of Modern Thought in Europe.

Wednesday 1.20.16 

 Today we looked at several articles in small groups on 5 topics. Imperialism, Causes of WWI, The Home Front during WWI, WWI itself, and the RUssian Revolution. Groups completed posters on their assigned topics to be presented next class.
