Monday 11.9.15

Today students were introduced to the major religions of the world. We took notes on, and had a close look at Hinduism, the oldest of the major religions. Students then expanded their understaning of India by completing a map on the sub-continent.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wednesday 11.11.15

Today we contiued to examin Hinduism through the Mauryan Empire. We were also introduced to Buddhism and learned about Ashoka. Friday 11.13.15

Today we took a closer look at Buddhims. We started this investigation by reading about the Dalai Lama. That lead into a brief class discussion about Tibet and China and the role of a spiritual leader. We finished class by looking at the origins of Buddhism through the BBC documentary The Life of the Buddha.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thursday 11.19.15

Monday 11.23.15

Today looked at China and Confusionsim. Students also completed a map of China.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Monday 11.30.15

Today we contiued to look at China. Students watched the Documentary Lost Civilizations: China and then took notes on the Silk Road. Finally studetns were asked to do a reading on the Silk Road and complete a map of the trade routes.
