Wednesday 1.6.15

Today students were introduced to the Roman Empire. We stared by brainstorming our prior knowledge of the Roman Empire. We then looked at the daily life of a Roman teenager and compared that with current teenager's lives and expectations. Students then completed a map of the Roman Empire. Friday 1.6.16

Today we contiued to examin the Roman Empire.  We took notes on the relevance of the Roman Empire to our culture and society today. Students then completed a reading and answered questions on the politics and law of Rome. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tueday 1.12.16

Today's class focused on the Kingdom of Rome. We started class by going over the the Roman Republic and Law Reading questions together. We then learned about Cincinnatus and discussed how George Washington wished to emulate him through his actions with the founding of America. Next, we took notes on the Kingdom of Rome and looked at four of the Seven Legendary Kings of Rome. We then learned about how the kingdom was overthrown and a Republic was established. In closing, we read about the Government Under the Republic (pg. 157 in World History: Patterns of Interaction) and crated a diagram of the new Roman Republic. Today started with a review of themes we've covered through our Rome Unit via Crash Course with John Green. We then took notes on the 5 good emporores. Friday 1.29.16

Today started with a review of the origins of Christianty via Crash Course with John Green. We then took notes on the fall of the Roman Empire. Students then read four articles on the fall of Rome and wrote summaries of their findings. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wednesday 2.3.16

Today started with a review of the Fall of Rome via Crash Course with John Green. We then took notes on the Byzantine Empire. Students then looked in the text book at Ch. 11 Section 1 and answered a few questions and filled out a map.
